The pilot Schonger, Hans Bertram and the on-board mechanic Klausmann before the attempt to fly to China with a Junkers F.13. The flight should proceed from Berlin over Istanbul - Bagdad - Karachi - Bombay - Colombo - Madras to Nanking. The plane went missing in a storm in Vicagapatam. The flight took place under an initiative called the German Chinese Friendship Flight
