Seal of the Memel Land Directorate, 1939
The Directorate of the Memel Territory under William Bartuleit has given its seal a new look. The illustration of the Lithuanian national hero Vytautas the Great/ Lithuanian State Emblem used previously in the stamp (above) has been replaced (below) with the coat of arms of Memel, which is supported by moose antlers and a swastika. Furthermore, the German-language inscription ('Directorate of the Memel Territory, Klaipedos Krasto Direktorija) is now in the upper side
