Sir Arthur Harris (1892-1984), British officer, Air Marshal, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Bomber Command of the Royal Air Force. During the Second World War he was nicknamed Bomber Harris'. Because of the ruthlessness and brutality of the surface bombardments invented by him he was criticised by the British side as well after the war
