The SMS Condor on the coast of southern Africa, around 1900
The small cruiser Condor navigated to German East Africa in 1895 and later commuted between German East Africa and South Africa. During the Second Boer War, the Condor was among other things responsible for protecting German merchant ships from encroachments of British warships (undated photo)
