The SMS Helgoland was the lead ship of the Helgoland class, named after her, consisting of four large line ships of the Imperial Navy. It was the first German main battle ship whose main armament had a caliber of 30.5 cm. The Helgoland belonged to the I. Squadron of the High Seas Fleet
