Soldier looking for cover, 1942

In the town of Kholm, a German soldier passes a street at a run to find cover on the other side. The front ran across the city for several weeks and claimed thousands of lives. During the encirclement battle of Kholm the Kampfgruppe Scherer successfully defended the town for 105 days.
