Soldier with signal ammunition
Since the Treaty of Versailles prohibited Germany from having an air force, they had only signal ammunition available to defend their airspace. This was shot in the air, developed visible clouds of smoke and glided back down slowly on a small parachute. Foreign military pilots had to land when seeing it. Date created: 01.01.1919-31.12.1932
