Soviet prisoners of war, 1944

During the battles in the Carpathians, the Axis Powers occasionally captured Soviet soldiers. Here, some of them march through a village in the Carpathians. The Hungarian inscription: Gyogyszertar (pharmacy) on the house in the background indicates a small village in the Hungarian territory at the time. Photo of the Propaganda Company (PK): war correspondent Mittelstaedt
