St. Hubertus

Saint Hubert (c. 655-727), bishop of Tongeren-Maastricht (later Liege) and patron saint of hunting, hunters and shooting clubs. The painting by Jan Bruegel the Elder (Brueghel) depicts the legend that Hubertus was converted during a hunt by the appearance of a deer with a crucifix between its antlers
