Movie still: Retreat of German auxiliary troops after their failed foray to the Suez Channel. After the fighting near the Dardanelles, the armies of the Central Powers, Germans and Turks, had made an attempt on the Suez Channel, a highly important strategic point for the enemy's supplies. On their way to the channel, the troops of the Central Powers had to storm the city of Damascus. After the defeat of the Germans at the Suez Channel and the German retreat to Syria, Damascus was retaken by the British and loyal Arab Sheiks. 01.01.1914-31.12.1918
