This drawing shows the street Unter den Linden seen from Platz am Opernhaus (today Bebelplatz) with a view towards the Brandenburg Gate. In the middle of the picture a horseman gives money to a beggar, behind him is the construction site for the equestrian statue of Frederick the Great. The drawing was made in the first half of the 19th century
