The First World War had shown how important armored cars (or tanks') could be used as a support weapon for the attacking infantry. Therefore, it was experimented with new tanks in all major armies, as here on a US Army military training area in the United States in 1932. But only the Germans came to the idea of creating an autonomously operating tank weapon
