Telephone set of Pope Pius XI. 1930

This telephone set is a gift from the International Telephone and Telegraph Corporation to the Pope. The device is made of silver and gold and is elaborately engraved and chiseled. The four corners of the device shows silver medallions bearing the emblems of the evangelists. The lower part of the front points a relief of the family crest of Pope Pius XI. The center of the dial with a blue enamel ground shows the crest of the Vatican City engraved in silver
