Sir Thomas More, Lat. Morus, English statesman and humanist, Lord Chancellor, because of high treason he was sentenced to death and executed, saint. More wrote numerous works, his major work Utopia, the draft of an ideal human society, was published in 1516 and became world famous. Ambrosius from the artist's family Holbein provided the title woodcut. The book was published at Froben in Basel
