Training for Women's Auxiliary Signal Service, WW2

Under the supervision of Signal Corps NCOs, women were trained for the Women's Auxiliary Signal Service of the Army. The photo shows a group of female students learning the Morse code. In particular thousands of blitzmaedchen (flash girls) were deployed in the signal corps as announcers and as intermediaries for the rearguard units
