View of Garmisch-Partenkirchen in winter, 1936
The view goes down from the Wank to Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The landscape is all covered in snow in the winter of 1936. The Winter Olympics were held in Garmisch that year. Around Garmisch are the following peaks (from left to right): Alpspitze, Hollentorkopf, Hollentalspitzen, Zugspitze, Waxenstein, Oberleiten (behind the Eibsee) and Daniel. The photograph was probably taken by August Beckert from the B. Johannes studio in Partenkirchen
