The copperplate engraving by Matthaus Merian from 1645 shows Passau enclosed by hills, including the Georgsberg, which is crowned by the Veste Oberhaus (B). On the opposite bank is the monastery of Mariahilf (G). In the middle is the Cathedral of St. Stephen, which was rebuilt in 1665
