During a stay in Lorraine in the summer of 1906, Emperor Wilhelm II visited the girls school named after the empress at the Augusta Victoria Monastery in Kurzel, today's Courcelles-Chaussy. Dressed in Sunday dress with straw hats and ribbons, the schoolgirls sing a Protestant hymn to the Emperor as a greeting
