War Ministry in Bucharest

The decorated war ministry in Bucharest at the beginning of the Russian campaign, after the first victories in August 1941 with portraits of King Michael I, Hitler, Prime Minister General Antonescu and Mussolini. After the takeover of General Ion Antonescu (1940) and of the establishment of a pro-fascist military dictatorship Romania is approaching to the Axis powers and finally enters in the Tripartite Pact. Romania entered on German side in the war against the Soviet Union on 22.6.1941
