German soldiers receive their supply rations during the retreat from France. The man left in the picture carries his Zeltbahn as a cap to disguise and as protection against rain. It is also striking that the men are wearing both the Einheitsfeldmuetze M43, and the M38 Schiffchen and are clothed with marching boots. Date created: 25.09.1944
