The duplex of the architect Josef Frank in the Weissenhof Estate on the Killesberg in Stuttgart from 1927. Under the artistic direction of Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, 17 architects from Germany, Holland, Austria and Switzerland have created an exemplary residential program for the modern urban people. The 21 houses containing 63 apartments that come into being within a construction period of only 21 weeks are not a naturally grown settlement, but the result of the exhibition The Apartment initiated by the Deutscher Werkbund (German Work Federation) in 1927
