The Wertheim department store
The department store Wertheim in Berlin. The first department store of the group was founded by the brothers Abraham and Theodor in 1852 in Stralsund. The Wertheim Group fell victim to the expropriation of Jewish companies by the National Socialists in 1937. After the Second World War, the company was re-founded and taken over by Hertie in the 1980s, then Karstadt in 1994
