William Beebe, American zoologist and sea explorer
The American zoologist and deep sea explorer William Beebe (1877-1962) after his return from the expedition Arcturus that in February 1925 led him first in the Sargasso Sea, and then to the Galapagos Islands. Beebe explored on this expedition, commissioned by the New York Zoological Society, the fauna and flora of these waters. He later became famous for his bathysphere conducted deep-sea exploration
