Young women belonging to the fascist Opera nazionale del dopolavoro (OND) practice the drill step in the marble stadium on the Foro Mussolini (today Foro Italico) in Rome. Mussolini had introduced the passo romano that year, a parade step very similar to that used by the German Wehrmacht. The OND was the leisure and recreation organization of the Italian fascists and the fascist mass organization with the largest number of members
