Wreck of the Zeppelin airship Germany II (LZ 8) in Dusseld

On 16.5.1911 the German Zeppelin airship Germany II (LZ 8) was thrown by a strong gust toward the balloon hangar and the windbreak fence of the airship port Duesseldorf. Thereby the Zeppelin was so badly damaged that it had to be scrapped. After its first flight on 30.03.1911 the LZ 8 made a total of 24 DELAG flights under the command of Dr. Eckener
