July 7, 1865 - Lincoln assassination conspirators on the gallows in 1865. The four condemned conspirators; Mrs. Mary Surratt, Lewis Powell, David Herold, George Atzerodt, with officers and others on the scaffold and guards on the wall in Washington D.C.. At ten past one in the afternoon, in the courtyard of the Old Penitentiary in Washington D.C. the four convicted and condemned members of the Lincoln Conspiracy were taken to the scaffold for their execution and were hanged at twenty-six minutes past the hour.
