The Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Arch located at Bushnell Park, Hartford, Connecticut, as a mark of honor towards the 4000 citizens of the state who served in the American Civil War. Having been completed in 1886 and dedicated on September 17th the same year, it is the first permanent triumphal arch of its kind to be built in the United States
