Private David Woods stands with his M-60 machine gun on his shoulder as the village of Lieu An burns behind him. Soldiers from C Co.1st Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division, burned the village after they had received fire from the village the day before and tripped mines that morning that killed one soldier and wounded three. It was part of Operation Pershing
