Nguyen Thi Hoai holds her daughter Lam Thi Tho as an other child looks on as their village, Lieu An on the Bong Son Plain, is burned by soldiers. Soldiers from C Co.1st Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division, had received fire from the village the day before and tripped mines that morning that killed one soldier and wounded three. It was part of Operation Pershing
