Belarus journalist Svetlana Alexievich awarded

Moscow, Russia. Belarus journalist and non-fiction writer Svetlana Alexievich (C) awarded the Triumf Prize in the Beethoven Hall of the Bolshoi Theatre on January 7, 1998 for her substantial creative work. Alexievich is known for her books War's Unwomanly Face [Russian title: U Voiny Ne Zhenskoye Litso], Zinky Boys: Soviet Voices From The Afganistan War [Russian title: Tsinkovye Malchiki], Voices From Chernobyl [Russian title: Chernobylskaya Molitva], etc. all based on real stories or letters of witnesses of historic epoch or events.
