Vologda region, Russia. Central apse murals at the Cathedral of the Nativity of the Virgin (1490) in the Ferapontov Monastery. The 15th-17th century ensemble of the Ferapontov Monastery on the bank of Lake Borodavskoye is decorated with frescoes by the famous Russian icon painter Dionisius and his two sons.
