City of Slavutich built for Chernobyl Nuclear

Slavutich, Kyiv Region, Ukraine. The city is populated by the workers of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant who had to abandon Pripyat due to the 1986 Chernobyl nuclear disaster. It was built as soon as possible by common effort of the eight Soviet republics. Anatoly Morkovkin/ITAR-TASS
