Earthquake in Armenia, 1988
Spitak, Armenian SSR, Soviet Union. Search teams arrive from France to participate in rescue operations after a severe earthquake at a magnitude of 6.8 struck the north of Armenia on December 7, 1988 devastating Leninakan, Stepanavan and several other cities and claiming at least 25, 000 lives, another 500, 000 people injured or homeless.
