Extraction of amber in Kaliningrad region, 1992

Kaliningrad region, Russia. An excavator extracting amber out of the so-called blue clay in the settlement Yantarny, previously known in German as Palmnicken. In the early 90s this place was considered to be the richest amber deposit in the world.
