Kurgan Region, Russia. Father Superior Vasily leads the Dalmat Monastery of Dormition founded by Venerable Dalmatius of Siberia about 350 years ago and recently starting to revive on obtaining an official monastery status. In the secular world Vasily worked as an exploration geologist, served in the Soviet Army on the Baikal-Amur Mainline [BAM], participated in liquidating the 1986 Chernobyl nuclear disaster.
