A view of the Church of St. Martinian (1640-1641), the Cathedral of the Nativity of the Virgin (1490), the Bell Tower (1680) and the Church of the Annunciation (1530-1534), from left, at the Ferapontov Monastery founded by monk Ferapont in 1398. The Cathedral of the Nativity of the Virgin possesses the full ensemble of frescoes by the famous Russian icon painter Dionisius, created in 1502 and surviving to the present day.
