Ferapontov Monastery in Vologda region, 1999
Vologda region, Russia. A view of the Ferapontov Monastery from the side of Lake Borodavskoye. The monastery was founded by monk Ferapont in 1398 and now is a branch of the Kirillo-Belozersky historico-architectural and art museum-reserve: the main building of the monastery is decorated with 15th century frescoes by the famous Russian icon painter Dionisius.
