Memorial ?ross commemorating victims of Stalin

Belgorod Region, Russia. The Memorial Cross dedicated to the Soviet peasants who fell victims to the 1920's-1930s Stalin repression is unveiled in Belgorod Region. Kulaks, wealthy peasant class in the early 20th century Russia, were arrested, executed or forcedly deported to Siberia as class enemies, their property confiscated. The Cross, designed by Soviet sculptor Vyacheslav Klykov, is approximately 10 m high and made of limestone. Valery Morev/ITAR-TASS
