A view of the Monument to the Conquerors of Space unveiled on October 4, 1964 near the All-Russia Exhibition Centre to commemorate the 7th anniversary of the Sputnik 1 satellite launch and to mark Soviet people's progress in space exploration. 110 m [360 ft] high, the monument made of titanium has the Memorial Museum of Cosmonautics in its base opened in 1981.
