A fresco depicting St. Nicholas the Wonderworker by the famous Russian icon painter Dionisius at the Cathedral of the Nativity of the Virgin (1490) in the Ferapontov Monastery founded by monk Ferapont in 1398. The Cathedral of the Nativity of the Virgin possesses the full ensemble of frescoes by Dionisius, created in 1502 and surviving to the present day.
