USSR. Polar explorers at the aerodrome of the North Pole-3 drifting ice station. Camp facilities include heated accommodation tents and an airdrome. Helicopters and polar aircraft fly regularly between the North Pole-3 drifting ice station and the mainland ferrying newspapers, books and mail, as well as scientists to their local work sites.
