Oil-pipe line of the Sugmut oil-field. 1995

Tyumen Region. The Sugmut oil-field located in swamps between the rivers of Nadym and Pura is a major one in West Siberia. The picture shows an oil-pipe line of the Sugmut field. The pipes are laid not on the river's bottom but over the river. The shut-off cocks installed on the both banks will allow to stop the oil stream in an emergency to prevent ecocatastrophes.
