Fort-Shevchenko. Kazakh SSR. USSR. 1954. A hand-made dug-out in the territory of a former military fortification Novopetrovskoye, where the Ukranian poet Taras Shevchenko spent 7 years of his exile. He was sent there on a forced march under a strict prohibition to draw or write. The exact day of shooting is unknown. Mark Redkin/TASS
