St George's bronze equestrian statue designed by Georgian sculptor Zurab Tsereteli and erected in 1995 as a part of the WWII memorial complex in the Victory Park [Park Pobedy] on the Poklonnaya Hill to commemorate the victory over Nazi Germany in 1945, St George the Victorious known as the patron of the Russian Armed Forces.
