The TV mast with the height of 540 m [-1, 800 ft] built in 1967, the former is the tallest free-standing structure in Europe and the eighth one in the world. The latter built in 1964 near the All-Russia Exhibition Centre commemorates the 7th anniversary of the Sputnik 1 satellite launch and marks Soviet people's progress in space exploration.
