the talks
A general view of the talks of Ruissian President Boris Yeltsin with a delegation of Chechen separatists led by Zelimkhan Yandarbiyev /third rignt in Caucasian fur cap/ in the Kremlin on May, 27th. After almost three-hour talks a ceasefire agreement terminating all hostilities in Chechnya starting June 1st was signed by Russian Premier Victor Chernomyrdin and Yandarbiyev in the presence of the Russian president and a representative of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe. Both sides agreed to release all hostages and prisoners of war within two weeks. The talks involved Chernomyrdin, Security Council Secretary Oleg Lobov, Chechen leader Doku Zavgayev, Russian Interior Minister Anatoli Kulikov and Minister of Nationalitis Vyacheslav Mikhailov
