Van Cliburn tours in USSR

Moscow. USSR. August 22, 1960. American pianist Van Cliburn holds Soviet space dogs Belka and Strelka during the shooting for the We Will Meet Again TV show at the Moscow TV center on Shabolovka. Belka and Strelka spent a day in space aboard Sputnik-5 spacecraft and were the first Earth-born creatures to go into orbit and return alive on August 19, 1960. Valery Gende-Rote/TASS
