Vega space programme in Soviet Union, 1984
Kazakh SSR, Soviet Union. Soviet, French and Czechoslovak scientists supervise pre-flight preparation of a Vega space probe at the Baikonur Cosmodrome scheduled to launch in December 1984 to study Venus and Halley's Comet, hence the name of the programme. They were developed and produced cooperatively by the Soviet Union, Austria, Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland, Czechoslovakia, France, France, the German Democratic Republic and Federal Republic of Germany.
