Vega space programme in Soviet Union, 1984

Kazakh SSR, Soviet Union. Soviet leaders of the international Vega space programme talk to their French colleagues at the Baikonur Cosmodrome. The sister space probes Vega 1 and Vega 2 were launched on December 15 and 21, 1984 respectively to study Venus and Halley's Comet, hence the name of the programme. They were developed and produced cooperatively by the Soviet Union, Austria, Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland, Czechoslovakia, France, France, the German Democratic Republic and Federal Republic of Germany.
