Sudak, Ukraine. The mighty Genoese Fortress towers above the ancient city of Sudak, the capital of the Great Silk route. Sudak was first mentioned in 212 as it was the major transportation hub of those times. Goods from the East travelled along this road to get to Europe, North-Western Africa, Middle East countries and to the Caucasus.
